Champion jockey Omar Walker was on Tuesday slapped with a one-day suspension by the stewards for careless riding aboard BROTHERLY LOVE in the ninth race at Caymanas Park on Saturday, June 26.

The three-time champion and current leading rider was penalised for causing multiple interference to GIRLOFMYDREAMS, FULL SPECTRUM and VENICE MEL-ISSA leaving the half mile. His suspension will take effect on Wednesday, July 21.

In addition, Walker was severely cautioned by the stewards for the interference caused to ALEXANDRA'S SPIRIT, FULL SPECTRUM and GOOD SENSE approaching the 900-metre point.

At the same hearing at the Winchester Road offices of the Commission on Tuesday, lightweight apprentice Conrad Ellis, who rode ALEXANDRA'S SPIRIT in the seventh race on July 3, picked up two racedays for the interference caused to CLASSY COMPANY in the backstretch and YAMASHITA'S GOLD and DANCING SAM approaching the 200-metre (furlong pole) point. Ellis, who recently returned to the saddle following a three-month suspension for a non-racing related matter, starts his suspension on Wednesday.
