NEW YORK CITY (CMC):

Veronica Campbell-Brown and Nesta Carter will lead the Jamaica challenge against the United States at the Millrose Games later this month at Madison Square Garden.

Campbell-Brown is the reigning women's 60 metres World Indoor champion, and Carter was the fastest Jamaican sprinter last year, both indoor and outdoor. He was the joint fastest man in the world over 100 metres with 9.78 seconds. American Tyson Gay also clocked 9.78. His best time for 2010 over 60 metres was 6.54 seconds.

A United States of America Track & Field media release explained that three Americans will race against three Jamaicans in both the men's and women's 60m sprints, and points will be awarded according to place.

The scores of the two races will be combined to determine, which of the two nations have won the annual clash.

The Jamaica women's unit is completed by Vonette Dixon and Trisha-Ann Hawthorne, while Lerone Clarke and Oshane Bailey are the other two members of the men's team.

Former World 100 champion Lauryn Willi-ams will spearhead the American women's challenge, along with 2006 World Indoor 60m champion Lisa Barber and her twin sister Miki, a 2007 World Outdoor 4x100m relay gold medallist.

The USATF also announced that its men's team will be led by 2010 American champion and World Indoor 60m silver medallist Mike Rodgers, 2010 American indoor 60m and outdoor 100m runner-up Trell Kimmons, and 2010 United States outdoor bronze medallist Ivory Williams.
