Masquerade

The Latin American Women's Club hosted a 'Masquerade Wine and Cheese Party' to raise funds for its charities at Guardsman Group headquarters, Old Hope Road, on Friday night.

Citibank's 50th

The movers and shakers of the business and financial industries came out to celebrate Citibank's 50th anniversary at The Courtleigh Auditorium, St Lucia Avenue, New Kingston, on Saturday night.

Excellence rewarded

The annual Gleaner Honour Awards luncheon was held at the company's North Street headquarters yesterday. See related story in this section.

Tuesday talk

1. The enforcer in town

And
he bounceth right back! The discarded one has been embraced by persons
who understand the true value of an enforcer. So, those who are
delinquent in paying their bills, including cable charges, better
beware. The next face you see at your door may scare the daylights out
of you.

2. Give us more, please

They say the recent exposé
has barely scratched the surface. Word has it that the lady is extremely
good at disobeying official orders and doing things her own way. Her
stated intention to make many millions before it's all over appears to
be the motivating factor.

3. Wife and sweetheart

This wife
and this sweetheart will never be friends. Oh no, how brazen can one
get? The gentleman did not agree that it was inappropriate to have his
lady friend present at a family gathering, knowing full well she has
been the subject of many heated arguments in the home. Many say this one
will play out in the church, for while he is in the pulpit, his wife
and sweetheart will be settling the score.

4. A white Christmas indeed!

The
mother has been telling everyone that the student has decided not to
come home for Christmas. However, some are saying she really has no
choice since she has been locked away for shoplifting. Right now, the
family appears to be in denial. So, will she come home with a degree
after all?
