What a tie!

The Sunshine Girls and Australia's Diamonds battled firecely to a 49-49 tie in a most scintillating netball match at the National Indoor Sports Centre last night.

Jamaica led 14-11 at the first quarter, but neither of the teams could be separated at the helf, when they were locked at 24-all.

Jamaica inched ahead marginally at the end of the third, 37-36, before the Aussies fought back to deny the home team a victory that would have enabled them to tie the three-Test series 1-1.

Aussies lead

As it stands, the Aussies, following Wednesday's 63-51 win, still hold a 1-0 lead going into tomorrow's final encounter, which will be played at the same venue.

Goal shooter Romelda Aiken put in a monster performance, netting 35 of 36 attempts to lead Jamaica's scoring. Goal attack and captain, Simone Forbes, with 12 goals from 13 tries and Marsha Murphy, two from five, were the other Jamaica scorers.

Australia's scoring was led by Sharelle McMahon (24/32), while Natalie Medhurst (17/19) and Kate Beveridge (8/12), made up the total.
