Falmouth traffic changes

A new traffic-management system is being considered for the parish of Trelawny.

According to Urban Develop-ment Corporation and Trelawny Parish Council plans, several roadways in Falmouth will be designated as one-ways. The changes should have taken place on January 4. However, Collen Gager, mayor of Falmouth, said they should take effect before the arrival of the first ship on February 17.

The main streets to undergo changes are Duke and Cornwall; the former will flow westbound from Market to Rodney streets, while Cornwall will flow eastbound from Rodney to Market streets.

Member of Parliament Dr Patrick Harris says the new system will, in its initial stages, have challenges but the changes were integral for the parish's development.
