Pro golfers in action at Half Moon

Forty of Jamaica's professional golfers and some of the island's best amateur golfers in the west will tee off today at the Half Moon Golf Course at Rose Hall in Montego Bay at 11 a.m. in a Professional Golf Association of Jamaica (PGAJ) tournament.
The golfers who will be on the course include Dermott Warren, Ewan Peebles and Earnest Bernard, who have all represented Jamaica at several golf tournaments.
The tournament is one of the preparatory events on the PGAJ calendar and will be used as one of the qualifiers for the World Cup of Golf which will be held later this year. It will also be used to rank the local professional golfers.
In the past, tournaments staged by the PGAJ have produced outstanding players who have gone on to represent Jamaica with distinction at the regional and international levels. Some of these golfers include Seymour Rose, Delroy Campbridge and Peter Horrobin.
