Twelve teachers who are members of the St Ann Chapter of the Retired Teachers' Association, an arm of the Jamaica Teachers' Assocaition, were fêted at a luncheon hosted by the Bahia Principe Hotel in Runaway Bay to mark Teachers' Day last Wednesday.

Custos of St Ann, Radcliff Walters, said it was inspiring to be in the company of such a "distinguished group of educators".

"It is always inspiring to be in your company but is particularly gratifying to be participating in this function, specially crafted to express appreciation for your hard work and sincere dedication," he added.

Dana Cuffe, staff and community relations manager at the hotel, said Bahia Principe was pleased to have been able to honour the retirees in such a way.

President of the association, Richard James, said it was good to be honoured in such a way by the hotel. "My profound thanks for allowing us this privilege," James said.

The retired teachers, some of whom have been retired for over 20 years, spent several hours at the hotel and enjoyed every minute of it. Four were lucky and received complimentary gift vouchers from Chukka Cove, Dolphin Cove, Evita's Restaurant and Bahia Principe.
