Long-time rivals St Catherine and Melbourne will today meet in the feature game of the fourth and penultimate round of the first stage of the two-day Jamaica Cricket Association Super Cup at Chedwin Park.
The clash, which is slated to get underway at 10 a.m. each day, will see both teams gunning for all points on offer given the standings in Group D of the championship.
Melbourne, which includes West Indies spinner Nikita Miller, Donovan Pagon, Yannick Elliott, Andre McCarthy and Sadiki Bolt, lead the group with 13 points, seven more than St Catherine.
The group is completed by Kensington and Kingston who lie second and third, respectively, with nine points each, and Lucas and Boys' Town who with six points each, are fifth and sixth, respectively.
St Catherine, who by virtue of their position need at least first innings to keep their hopes alive, will look to West Indies all-rounder André Russell, captain Tamar Lambert and the spin duo of Odean Brown and Bevon Brown.
In other Group D matches, Kensington and neighbours Lucas will square off at Kensington, while Kingston will travel to Boys' Town.
Elsewhere, Trelawny will host St Elizabeth and Westmoreland will entertain St James in Group A, Manchester will journey to St Thomas and Clarendon will welcome G.C. Foster in Group B, while in Group C, the Jamaica Defence Force will host Portland, and Police will play away to St Mary.
