Jamaica rock
Jamaica collected another two gold medals through Andre Hendricks and the women's 4x100 metres during yesterday's 2011 Special Olympics Games in Athens, Greece. In addition, the island also garnered two silver and one bronze medals.
Jamaica's medal haul now stands at eight gold, eight silver and five bronze.
During yesterday's competition, Hendricks mined gold in the men's 5,000 metres with the women's sprint relay team doing likewise.
The island's footballers won silver medal in the league-format top-tier tournament as they disposed of Uruguay 2-0 to finish runners-up to Ecuador, whom they had lost 0-1 to earlier.
The other silver medal was won by the doubles team of Esthern Pair and Sherine Gordon in women's bocce. Jamaica's other medal was won by the men's 4x100m team, which collected the bronze.
