So many parties, so little time ... ah well, someone's gotta do it!

Thursdaytalk - Hottest topics on the cocktail circuit

Vacant position

1. Some say it's funny that the prime minister who went to the extreme to 'protect' Dudus' constitutional rights, showed no such care when he created a constitutional debacle by breaching the tenets of the said Constitution by having the post of attorney general vacant for over a week.

Unhappy PNP

2. The appearance of a number of PNP big-wigs at the American July 4 celebration did not sit well with some party members, as they say, July 4 being the birthday of the party founder Norman Manley, the party and its officers should have been busy celebrating the birthday of the Jamaican National Hero!

Well, not good!

3. A number of the guests who attended an event are still dumbstruck. They say the fact the event was obviously sponsored was bad enough, but what made it worse was the 'decorations'. They say the signage by the sponsoring company was in even worse taste than having the event sponsored!

Tough times are here

4. Seem some household helpers are expressing a preference for finding employment with foreigners locally, as they say that some Jamaican employers pay them on Friday, but, on Monday, come back to them to borrow their pay. And, in some instances, they go weeks on end without being paid!

Marriage, is this a new game?

5. Some are asking if the new game in some circles is seeing who can have the shortest marriage! Seems like quite a few high-profile and publicised marriages have come crashing down within weeks or months after they are announced, causing some to question if it's the new game in town.

Voluntary exile

6. Questions are being asked about some who went into voluntary exile. They say they would like to know the status of the one who fled by night and the other who allegedly misappropriated clients' funds.
