Ladies skittlesat The Dip tomorrow
The Supreme Ventures/Mandingo-sponsored nine-a-side Dip Invitational skittles tournament takes a break tomorrow to facilitate the playing of the ladies tournament at the The Dip, Gregory Park, starting at 1 p.m.
Some of the top women in local skittles have been confirmed for this event, including reigning singles champion Marsha Newsome, former champion Ruthlyn 'Marcia' Bailey, Charlene Phoenix, Jacinth 'Gigi' Kellier, Iona Anderson, Paulette Barrett, Pauline Gentles, Donna Subran and Stacey Miller. The event is being sponsored by Mandingo with Best Dressed Chicken part sponsors.
The best-of-three matches will be played on a knockout basis with the last two advancing to the final at The Dip on Sunday, October 30, when the final of The Dip Invitational team tournament will be played as well.
Following last Sunday quarter-finals, the pairings for the October 23 semi-finals are Starliner vs Mister C at 2 p.m. and The Dip vs Dragon at 5 p.m.
Last Sunday, The Dip beat Willies Strikers 7-2 at The Dip, Dragon got a walkover from Mystix and the ladies team drubbed Olympic Strikers 8-1.
The Dip Invitational is a nine-a-side tournament organised by Trevor Bailey, proprietor of The Dip in Gregory Park, and sponsored mainly by Supreme Ventures Limited with Mandingo associate sponsors.

LIME vs NHT inBest Dressed KO final
Defending champions LIME advanced to tomorrow's final of the Best Dressed Chicken Business House 30-over cricket final when they defeated the recent 35-over champions Jamalco by 35 runs at Chalmers Avenue in semi-final action last Sunday.
Batting first, LIME made 201 for seven off their allotted 30 overs - opener Omar Allison 80, national player Horace Miller 52, former Jamaica wicketkeeper/batsman Keith Hibbert 36; Marceal Parchment 3-37. Jamalco 166 for nine off their 30 overs - Winston 'Sala' Osbourne 39, Dwayne Barrett 38, Kirk Gordon 18; Ryan Francis 4-36.
Tomorrow's final against National Housing Trust will be played at Chalmers Avenue (off Molynes Road) starting at 10 a.m.

Scotia blank BOJ4-0 in inter-bank football
Led by a hat-trick from Waterhouse Premier League player Akeen Themstead, unbeaten defending champions Scotiabank Group blanked Bank of Jamaica (BOJ) 4-0 in the third round of the JNBS/Western Sports Norman Goodison Inter-Bank football competition last Sunday at the Old Men's Hockey field, Mona.
Scotia, who dominated the game, saw Donovan Hibbert getting on to the scoresheet as well.
In other matches played last Sunday, RBC Royal Bank defeated CIBC/First Caribbean 6-2 with a brace from Rohan Findlay, while JNBS and the Sagicor Group drew 1-1. Both matches were played at the NWC playing field, Mona.
The competition continues tomorrow with three matches. These are RBC Royal Bank vs NCB at NWC playing field starting at 2 p.m., BOJ vs JNBS in the 4 o'clock match, and the Sagicor Group vs CIBC/First Caribbean at the Old Men's Hockey Field, starting at 3 p.m.

BH 3-on-3basketball play-offs
The Gleaner and UDC have everything to play for in Game Three of the Business House 3-on-3 basketball competition, having swapped victories in the first two matches on Monday and Wednesday at the Stadium Courts.
On Monday, UDC drew first blood with a 35-30 win over The Gleaner, who rebounded on Wednesday to beat them 34-27. The third game, scheduled for Monday evening at the Stadium Courts, should decide which team advances to the Division II semi-finals.
Meanwhile, the unbeaten Western Sports disposed of VMBS in two matches earlier this week to reach the Division II semi-finals, where they will meet the winner of The Gleaner/UDC encounter.
In Division I, defending champions Grace Cannings beat Digicel in back-to-back matches earlier this week to reach the semi-finals, as did last year's Division Ii champions Jamaica Teachers' Association over MegaMart and G4s over NCB.

Jamalco Football League final
All is set for the final of the Jamalco Football League, between Napoli and Top Hill, at the Jamalco Employees Sports Club grounds in Clarendon today.
The final had originally been scheduled for September 23 but was postponed to facilitate the strongest line-up for both teams. Fan interest is likely to be heightened, especially in light of the fact that no National Premier League games are scheduled for this weekend.
Kick-off time is 3:30 p.m. However, because of the lucrative prizes on offer, the third-place play-off between New Bowens and Port earlier, at 1:30 p.m., should also be interesting.
New champions will actually be crowned as the defending champions New Bowens were sent packing from the semi-finals following a brilliant display from Top Hill, the team which beat them in the final last year. Top Hill's ascension to a second straight final was secured by two goals from Clayton Thompson. Thompson, whose season highlights have included two hat-tricks, has scored nine goals so far, making him the leading goalscorer in the competition.
Napoli, who have enjoyed considerable fan support all season, ended the dream run of Port winning their semi-final clash 1-0 at the Wembley field. The all-important goal was secured by Jermaine Christian, who played for Humble Lion last year but is yet to figure seriously in coach Lenny Hyde's line-up. Perhaps the key player for them is their captain, Rohan Smith, who has scored five goals so far.
Both teams enter today's final with similar records. Top Hill, who are unbeaten, have scored 16 goals and have conceded only one. Napoli have scored 18, conceding just one, from their 0-1 loss to New Bowens early in the preliminary round.

Liberty football tournament
Liberty Preparatory School will host a one-day football tournament today at the Liberty playing field, 32 Hope Road, from 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m.
Brice blasts century for Portmore Pines
Damion Brice slammed a century as Portmore Pines demolished Portsmouth by 153 runs in the Wray and Nephew White Overproof Rum Portmore Cricket League last Sunday.
Brice, who smashed 140, shared a 208-run opening stand with Terence Brown, who hit 76.
Portmore Pines made a challenging 288 all out in 32.5 overs, with Bryce top-scoring with a splendid century. Hugh Hinds (4-33) and Damion Foster (2-49) took most wickets for Portsmouth. Portsmouth replied with 135 all out in 23.3 overs. Herman Dawson, (34) and Kimani Morgan (32) made most runs for Portsmouth while Jermaine Bennett (3-18) and Bryce (2-10) shared five wickets for Pines.
At Portsmouth, Colours International defeated Bridgeview by eight wickets. Scores: Bridgeview 149 all out in 29 overs. Shane Pusey 45, Coi Thompson, 34; Kerry Scott 3-20. Colours, 150-2 in 24.1 overs. Ramone Senior 44 not out, Bryan Latore, 40 not out.
At G.C. Foster College: Ken's Wildflower defeated Belmont by 73 runs. Scores: Ken's 188-8 in 35 overs. Tamar Lambert 80, Junior Stewart 34; Junior Morrison 3-22.
At the Bridgeport sports ground, Reid's Pen defeated Washington CC by 96 runs. Scores: Reid's Pen 155 all out in 30.3 overs. Hanif Palmer 62, Curtis Blair 20. Patrick Brown 5-25, Sheldon Hanson 2-25. Washington 79 all out in 21 overs. Amanjah Morris 22, Adrian Bartley 19; Robert Heron, 3-15, Ashan Plummer 2-2 (one over). The competition continues tomorrow.

Westchester, Ken's cop semi-final spots
Westchester Nuckuz and Ken's Wildflower took the two remaining semi-final spots in the Colin Fagan-sponsored South East St Catherine domino competition last Sunday. Westchester hammered Garveymeade 250-198, while Ken's Wildflower made it into the next round without shuffling a domino as Cumberland, for the second straight week, were no-shows. In other games on Sunday, top-ranked Passagefort United (25 points) defeated Portsmouth 250-232, and second seed Waterford (25 points) stopped Rising Sun 250-228.
Meanwhile, one outstanding game is on tomorrow, as two-out-of contention teams, Rising Sun and Portsmouth United, play at the Portsmouth Community Centre.
The semi-finals will be played on Sunday, October 16.

Trade Winds on top
Trade Winds Citrus Limited, makers of Tru-Juice, emerged as winners of the Business House section of the Tru-Juice FC 10th anniversary football fiesta, after they defeated Worthy Park Estate 2-1 on penalties in the final.
Rose Town captured the netball crown as they defeated Treadways 48-33 in that final. The main attraction of the day was the Peter McConnell Challenge Trophy played among Premier League, Super League, Major League and Division One teams in Kingston and St Andrew and St Catherine. KSAFA champions Cavalier FC won the title as they defeated Arnett Garden 5-4 on penalties, after both teams were locked 0-0 after regulation time.
The day's activities culminated with a presentation ceremony.

NWC top Sandals football
National Water Commission are the champions of the Sandals-sponsored St Ann/St Mary Business House Football Competition.
The 'Watermen', as they have been dubbed, stopped title aspirants Gran Bahai Principe 2-1 in an action-packed and dramatic final at Drax Hall on Tuesday, to secure their first hold on the Sandals Trophy
"It was a hard season and we were tested all the way, but battles like these make the victory so much sweeter," said an elated David Pryce, coach of the new champions.
"It wasn't easy. We had some really tough matches, but we bonded together with great teamwork. It was a total team effort," Pryce noted, following the victory celebrations.
The match itself lived up to the hype, as both teams came out of the gates in attack mode. It was Gran Bahai, however, who enjoyed the better of the early exchanges and drew first blood when Sheldon Perry found the back of the net with a well-taken goal.
Down 1-0 at half-time, NWC awoke from their slumber and pressured the Gran Bahai Principe defence, forcing them back on their heels. With time running out, Adrian Dallas scored an opportunistic goal to level the game.
The goal seemed to knock the fight out of Gran Bahai and NWC took control, and should have increased the lead but were let down by faulty finishing. With extra time moments away, Jermaine Wheildon slammed in a powerful shot from a left side cross in the final minute of play to send the NWC fans into wild celebrations.
The Sandals Trophy was presented by group public relations manager, Mitchell Watson, who praised both teams for their outstanding display. Watson said his company was pleased with the quality of football and organisation.
Sandals Ocho Rios regional public relations manager, Ian Spencer, noted that it had been a dramatic and action-packed competition, with NWC proving the class of the field by ending the season unbeaten. An awards presentations will be held at a date to be announced.
