Walton blasts six sixes in one over

Six sixes in one over by Kingston's wicketkeeper Chadwick Walton and a 42-ball 106 from Kingston and St Andrew's Damion Foster highlighted Sunday's second round of the new-look Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA) JAM Twenty20 Championship on Saturday and Sunday.

Walton, who in the absence of Carlton Baugh Jr played crucial roles in Jamaica retaining the regional four-day title and winning of the recent regional Super50 championship, achieved his amazing feat in helping Kingston to an 86-run win Lucas over at Up Park Camp.

Kingston, electing to bat, made 152-7 off their allotment of overs, with Walton hitting the maximum from an over bowled by off-spinner Ricardo Ennis in a knock of 56.

Opener Simon Jackson topscored for Kingston with an unbeaten 82, while Brian Latore made 71.

Lucas, in reply, were then restricted to 134-7, with spinner Frederick Hermit claiming 2-26 and Fabian Forbes 2-29.

Foster, in the meantime, claimed his landmark in Kingston and St Andrew's massive 253-run win over Boys' Town at Maxfield Park.

Kingston and St Andrew made 301-5, with Foster slamming seven sixes and nine fours during his knock, and Richard Allen getting 66 off 24 balls.

Boys' Town, in response, were restricted to 48-4 off 10 overs.

The result moved Kingston to the top of Group C with maximum eight points, the same as St Thomas, who recorded a 40-run win over 50-over champions Jamaica Defence Force (JDF), also at Up Park Camp.

St Thomas, deciding to bat after winning the toss, posted 175-5 with Marvin Darlington getting 40 against Sheldon Cotterell 2-10.

The JDF, in reply, could only manage 134 off 18.5 overs, as Joseph Palmer topscored with 38. Darlington returned to claim 4-18.

Kingston and St Andrew, in the meantime, moved to second in Group D behind Melbourne, who narrowly defeated Kensington by 11 runs in the second game of the double-header at Maxfield Park.

Melbourne posted 190-7, with Donovan Pagon getting 50 and André McCarthy 48.

Kensington were then limited to 179-7, with McCarthy claiming two wickets for no run. David Bernard Jr (78 not out) made most runs for the men from east Kingston.

In other results, at the Spanish Town Prison Oval, defending champions St Catherine CC, on the back of 4-10 from Odean Brown and 46 from Oraine Williams, defeated St Catherine CA by four wickets in Group F.

St Catherine CA made 120-7 and St Catherine CC replied with 125-6.

At the Ultimate Sports Complex, St Ann, thanks to an unbeaten 73 from John Campbell, recorded a 46-run win over Portland and St Mary, courtesy of a bowl-off, defeated Police in Group E.

St Ann made 175-5 and Portland, in reply, were restricted to 129.

Marlon Byfield was the only person to hit the wicket for St Mary in the bowl-off against Police.

At Manley Morne Park, St Elizabeth, led by Brenton Parchment's 4-15 and 33 from Cassius Burton, defeated Manchester by one wicket. G.C. Foster and Clarendon had to settle for a no-result because of rain in their Group B match at Manley Morne Park.

Manchester made 152-7 and St Elizabeth got home at 156-9.
