Digicel Stars voters to win big - Over $35,000 cash up for grabs each week
The winner of Digicel Stars will walk away from the talent competition with $1 million and a host of other prizes, but producers of the show are ensuring that voters will also get a chance to come out as winners.
In its first year, Digicel Stars is upping the ante on prizes awarded to loyal fans who vote to keep their favourite in the competition, with prizes ranging from call credit to MP3 players in addition to attractive cash prizes.
"Digicel has always been a fan of giving back to our supporters and customers and people who vote for their favourite contestant in the competition will be eligible for great prizes that include thousands of dollars in call credit and cash," stated Carla Hollingsworth, sponsorship executive at Digicel.
Series producer Sharon Schroeter says each week Digicel Stars will hand out $35,000 in cash, $3,000 worth of Digcel call credit and an MP3 player.
"There will be three levels of prizes. Fans who vote one to five times per week will be eligible to win $5000 cash while those who vote six to ten times per week will be eligible to win $10,000 cash and $1000 in Digicel call credit. Those fans who vote more than 11 times will stand a chance to win $20,000 cash, $2000 Digicel call credit and a Coby MP3 player," said Schroeter.
Social media
She continued, saying that it is a good time for Digicel Stars fans to get connected with the show through its social media properties on Facebook and Twitter as there will also be lots of giveaways through those platforms. Voting information can also be found on the show's Facebook and Twitter pages.
