Manning fires minister

The Prime Minister Patrick Manning fired his Trade and Industry Minister, Dr. Keith Rowley.



Dr. Rowley was fired on Tuesday and has been replaced by Dr. Lenny Saith.



A statement from the Office of the Prime Minister gave no reason for dismissing Rowley.



Dr. Rowley was a senior Cabinet official, who had once challenged Manning for the leadership of the ruling People’s National Movement a few years ago.



According to the statement, Saith who acted as Prime Minister on numerous occasions, will fit into Rowley’s position without much disruption.
