Chanderpaul scores for Durham

Inform West Indies batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul scored an unbeaten 58 as Durham Dynamos got its Pro40 campaign under way with a comfortable seven-wicket win over the Middlesex Crusaders at Uxbridge in England yesterday.



Chanderpaul and Paul Collingwood, who scored 78, shared an unbroken fourth-wicket stand of 132 as Durham chasing 201 for victory closed on 202 for three off 36.2 overs.



Durham had dismissed Middlesex for 200 from only 36.1overs against the bowling of Steve Harmison four for 31. Jamaican Gareth Breeze ended without a wicket for Durham after bowling eight overs for 35 runs.



Owais Shah was the top scorer for Middlesex with 73 from 58 balls.



Jamaican Wavell Hinds scored 45 runs and took one wicket as Derbyshire defeated Northamptonshire by six wickets in their Pro40 Division Two game.
