Prime Minister of St. Vincent and the Grenadines Dr. Ralph Gonsalves wants western countries to do more to help stem the trade of illegal weapons for drugs in the region.

Dr. Gonsalves is calling for the major consumer markets to play a greater role in curtailing the illegal trade.

He said most of the guns surfacing in St Vincent and the Grenadines were made in the United States.

He also said he does not believe countries of the Western hemisphere are doing enough to help other countries in addressing the burning issues of gun and drug trafficking.
