Jamaica/Aruba draw in TT Championships

Hosts Jamaica and Aruba are locked at 1-1 in team event on today’s opening day of the week long Caribbean Table Tennis Championships at the University of Technology Auditorium.



National champion Peter Moo Young put Jamaica ahead with a 3-2 victory over Remy Delange. However, Aruba pulled level after Joseph Dibbs lost 3-2 to Mario Lobo.



Dale Parham of Jamaica and Ruddy Rada of Aruba are now contesting the third game.



Meanwhile, Barbados got off to an impressive start after stopping St Lucia 3-0.



In the third match of the day, French Guiana and Trinidad and Tobago are locked at 2-2.



Jamaica will also be in action at 5 p.m. when the evening session serves off.



The Jamaicans will face off with Trinidad and Tobago.



Team events are scheduled for the first two days while the doubles will take place on Wednesday.



Singles are scheduled for Thursday and Friday.



Jamaica are also fielding a female team, which consists of national champion Yvonne Foster, Andrea Wadsworth, Shenique Clare and Kristen McKenzie.



Venezuela are the defending champions for both the male and female teams. However, Venezuela are not taking part this year.
