West Indies ‘A’, England face off

Lendl Simmons hit a superb 282 as West Indies ‘A’ posted a mammoth 574 for eight declared against England on the second day of the three-day tour in St Kitts.



Simmons resumed on 171 and added 111 before he was out leg before wicket to Ryan Sidebottom, his first wicket following a six-month injury layoff.



Steve Harmison picked up most wickets for England with four for 101, while James Anderson picked up two for 92.



England raced to 134 for two by the close of play with Andrew Strauss 55 and Kevin Pietersen on 12.



Ian Bell went for 52 and Alastair Cook without scoring.



Kevin McLean and Gavin Wallace have picked up a wicket each for West Indies ‘A’.



The game is the last tune-up for England before the first Digicel Test match in Jamaica starting next Wednesday.
