Young Reggae Boyz return to camp
Former Jamaica Under-17 player, Wolmer’s schoolboy Christopher Waugh will be among a group of 34 players reporting to the Under-20 camp today.
Waugh along with schoolmate and midfielder Ashani Fairclough, Jamaica College’s midfielder D’Andre Brown, Glenmuir High defender Brenton Griffiths and Kingston College striker Rohan Roye will join the squad to continue their World Cup preparations.
While this invitation will be Waugh’s first at the Under-20 level, the other four have been previously involved.
The young Boys are in pursuit of their second Under-20 World Cup finals and will compete in the CONCACAF Qualifying Final Round in Trinidad and Tobago from March 6 to 15.
They are draw in Group ‘A’ alongside the United States, El Salvador and the winners of the playoff between Honduras and St Vincent and the Grenadines.
To get themselves ready for these qualifiers, the young Boys will have six friendly internationals beginning with Costa Rica on February 12 and 14 in Jamaica.
