Cricket – Regional round up
The Leeward Islands beat Windward Islands by 28 runs in their 14th and final round West Indies Cricket Board regional four-day match at the Adelita Cancryn today.
The Windward Islands, chasing 249 to win were bowled out for 220, after resuming this morning on 110 for seven.
With the victory, the Leeward Islands moved to third with 77 points, while Windward Islands picked up four points for winning first innings to remain in second place.
Jamaica was crowned champions following the penultimate round of matches last week.
Final scores in the game: Leeward Islands 243 and 276 and Windward Islands 271 and 222.
Over at the Guyana National Stadium, Guyana trailing Barbados by 62 runs on first innings, were 276 for five in their second innings at the lunch interval.
The other game ended yesterday, with Combined Campuses and Colleges securing a 63-run victory over Trinidad and Tobago at the Three Ws Oval in Barbados.
