Trinidad and Tobago’s central bank governor Ewart Williams is warning that there will be further job losses, as the economy of the oil-rich twin island republic remains stagnant.

Mr. Williams says the economy is contracting faster than what was initially anticipated.

The Central Bank Governor says unemployment is expected to reach six or seven percent by the end of the year.

He says inflation rates are at an uncomfortable level in the country.

Mr. Williams has sought to reassure that the country is not in a recession.
