Manchester Lions recorded an innings and 11-run victory over Westmoreland Wizards at St Andrew Technical High School in round two of the Jamaican Super Cricket League, which ended yesterday.
Resuming on yesterday’s second and final day on 149 for three replying to Westmoreland Wizard’s first innings score of 120, Manchester Lions declared at 273 for eight, a lead of 153.
Batting a second time, Westmoreland Wizards were bowled out for 142.
With the victory, Manchester Lions have taken sole leadership of the competition with seven points, one ahead of Melbourne Kangaroos and Trelawny Buccaneers.
Melbourne Kangaroos and Trelawny Buccaneers won first innings points.
AT MELBOURNE OVAL; Melbourne resuming yesterday on 307 for six replying to St Elizabeth Warriors’ 241 were bowled out for 386. When the game was called off St. Elizabeth Warriors batting a second time were 293 for three.
OVER AT TRELAWNY MULTI-PURPOSE COMPLEX: Trelawny Buccaneers batting a second time were seven without loss in chase of a victory target of 63 when the game was called off.
In the other game, defending champions St Catherine Saints won first innings over Kingston Tigers in their drawn encounter at Chedwin Park.
