The police in Montserrat are intensifying investigations into a reported shoot out with persons aboard a high-speed boat yesterday.
Police officials say during the incident two persons were injured and a third killed.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Paul Morris said that the shootout ensued after security forces from Montserrat and Antigua and Barbuda intercepted the vessel in which the three were travelling.
He said during a chase, persons aboard the vessel were seen throwing several packages overboard.
Morris said the vessel was carrying 12 persons, believed to have been en route to Venezuela.
