BRUCE ON THE LOOSE yesterday warmed up for the June 13 Derby, with an easy victory in an open allowance race over the circular nine course at Caymanas Park.
Toting top weight of 57 kilos with leading all-time jockey Winston Grifffiths in the saddle, the three-year-old grey colt has established himself as the ante-post favourite for the premier classic.
He won yesterday’s race by seven-and-a-quarter lengths from PRIME MINISTER with champion jockey Omar Walker.
Later in the afternoon, the 3-2 favourite DANCING SAM, ridden by Walker, was disqualified and placed second after passing the post first in the Labour Day Trophy over 1200 metres.
The race was awarded to YAMASHITA’S GOLD with Paul Francis.
