West Indies beat Ireland

West Indies defeated Ireland by nine wickets in their first official International Cricket Council (ICC) World 20/20 warm-up match at The Oval in England today.



Ireland choosing to bat first scored 130 for seven against the bowling of Sulieman Benn two for 24 and Fidel Edwards one for 13.



Jeremy Bray top scored for Ireland with 30.



Needing 131 for victory, West Indies ended on 134 for one off 14 overs with captain Chris Gayle not out on 88 and Ramnaresh Sarwan undefeated on 25.



West Indies will next play England tomorrow.



The Caribbean side starts their World Cup campaign against Australia on June 6 at the Oval and face Sri Lanka on Wednesday, June 10 at Trent Bridge in the group stage.
