Out-of-favour West Indies batsman, Dwayne Smith, cracked another magnificent half-century to lead Sussex to a 38-run victory over Yorkshire in their English Pro40 Division One match yesterday.
Chasing a revised target after Yorkshire scored 254 for two off their 40 overs, tournament leaders Sussex reached 231 for five off 31.3 overs when rain aborted the match. They won on the Duckworth/Lewis method.
Smith slammed 58 off just 22 balls, while Joe Gatting top scored with an undefeated 99.
Yorkshire had posted their solid total after Adam Lyth stroked 109 not out, backed up by Jacques Rudolph 68 and Anthony McGrath 48 not out.
