Harbour View beat Tivoli in DPL

Harbour View defeated champions Tivoli Gardens 1-0 at the Edward Seaga Stadium yesterday in their top-of-the-table Digicel Premier League contest to hold on to the lead going into the new year.



Andre Steele scored the lone goal in the 17th minute to push the ‘Stars of the East’ to 39 points, now 4 ahead of Tivoli Gardens on 35.



Meanwhile, Boys’ Town moved to third place on 33 points following a 2-0 victory over Arnett Gardens at Collie Smith Drive.



Over at Prison Oval in Spanish Town, hosts Rivoli United carved out a 2-0 victory over St George’s Sports Club.



As a result of the victory, Rivoli United have now moved to eighth place in the standings with 20 points, while St George’s have slipped from third to fourth.



Waterhouse also improved their standings, moving to joint fourth with St George’s following a 1-0 victory over Portmore United at Drewsland in a late game.



Striker Kevin Lamey scored for Waterhouse in the 36th minute.



In the day’s other games sixth place Sporting Central Academy blanked bottom place August Town 2-1 at Brancourt in Clarendon and tenth place Humble Lions edged second-from-the-bottom Village United 1-0 at Elliston Wakeland Centre in Trelawny.
