Humble Lions defeat Harbour View
Digicel Premier League leaders Harbour View began the New Year on a losing note by going down 1-0 to strugglers Humble Lions at the Effortville Community Centre in Clarendon yesterday.
The lone goal was scored by Omar Walter in the 58th minute and as a result of the victory, Humble Lions have moved to 21 points.
The ‘Stars of the East’ remain on 39 points, 3 ahead defending champions Tivoli Gardens and Waterhouse, who are joint second on 36 points.
Tivoli Gardens had to share points with 10-man St Georges after a goalless draw at Lynch Park in Portland, while striker Kevin Lamey scored twice to lead Waterhouse to a 3-1 victory over sixth place Sporting Central Academy at the Drewsland Mini Stadium.
Over at the University of the West Indies, fourth place Boys’ Town had to come from behind to draw 1-1 with last place August Town.
Nicholas Smith put the home team ahead after just 11th minute, but Peter Keyes scored in the 79th minute to give Boys’ Town a share of the points.
In another game, ninth place Arnett Gardens and second from the bottom Village United battled to a 1-1draw at Anthony Spaulding Complex.
