Jamaica beat Windward Islands

Champions Jamaica completed a six-wicket victory over Windward Islands about 40 minutes before lunch on today’s fourth and final day of their first round match in the West Indies Cricket Board regional first-class competition.



The match was played at Chedwin Park in St Catherine.



Jamaica, who resumed this morning on 20 for two chasing a victory target of 98, were led to victory by West Indies batsman Brendan Nash.



The Australian-born Nash was undefeated on 44. Rawl Lewis ended with two for 21.



Jamaica’s leg-spinner Nikita Miller was voted Man of the Man for his match haul of nine for 99.



Final scores in the match are Windward Islands 181 and 251; Jamaica 335 and 98 for four.



Over at Kensington Park, Barbados, searching for 226 runs to beat Leeward Islands in their first-round match, were 40 for two at lunch. Scores in that game so far are Leeward Islands 236 and 219, Barbados 229 and 40 for two.



Over at Jarrett Park in Montego Bay, Trinidad and Tobago set 276 to win were 19 without loss at Sports Time in their first-round rain-affected match against Combined Campuses and Colleges.



Scores in that match so far are Combined Campuses and Colleges 234 and 148 for five declared, T&T 107 and 19 without loss at Sports Time.
