The President of the Inter American Development Bank (IDB), Luis Alberto Moreno, is due in Haiti today.

The decision is said to be driven by a decision of the Bank which declared that it is prepared to direct at least US-90 million dollars to priority reconstruction efforts in the earthquake ravaged country.

Moreno is expected to meet with Haitian authorities to analyse immediate needs for the reconstruction of Port-au-Prince.

He will also hold talks with representatives of other development organisations active in Haiti to coordinate short- and medium-term actions.
