In St Kitts and Nevis, former Nevis Premier, Vance Amory was declared the winner of Constituency 10, as the first result in yesterday’s election was announced.

Mr. Amory who represented the Concerned Citizens Movement (CCM) polled 665 votes to 225 by former nurse, Patricia Hanley, of the Nevis Reformation Party (NRP).

Dr Denzil Douglas has predicted a clean sweep by his ruling St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party.

Douglas, who is seeking an unprecedented fourth consecutive term in office, says his predictions are based on scientific analysis of the day’s polling activities.

11 seats were at stake in the election, with eight contested on St Kitts and three on Nevis.

The ruling St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party and the main opposition People’s Action Movement contested all eight seats on St Kitts, while CCM and NRP contested the three seats on Nevis.
