Pirates have released a Greek-owned vessel and its 22 crewmembers, months after hijacking the ship off the Somalia coast.

Michael Battzoglou, a security officer and spokesman for the vessel’s owner, said that the MV Filitsa was released after the shipping company that ows the vessel paid a ransom.

However, he did not say how much had been paid.

The Filitsa was en route to Mombasa, Kenya and Durban, South Africa, on November 11 when it was hijacked off the Somalian coast.
