Cassanova Boy for King’s Plate

Published:Friday | February 5, 2010 | 6:14 PM

Nine horses are down to face the starter at Caymanas Park tomorrow for the fifth running of the 1500-metre King’s Plate, a Grade Two handicap event.

Run in honour of the 2003 House of the Year, A KING IS BORN, the trophy was donated by his owner Howard Hamilton, in 2006.

Of the nine declared, champion trainer Wayne DaCosta will saddle four, including the hot ante-post favourite CASSANOVA BOY, which is unbeaten in four starts.

DaCosta also saddles another American bred 4-year-old gelding, NEW KINGSTON, as well as his consistent five-year-old gelding THE GUARDIAN, which shoulders top weight of 58.5 kilograms and SATAN’S RULE.

With champion and stable jockey Omar Walker electing to ride the classy CASSANOVA BOY, the hint should be taken.

Eight other races are scheduled for the day with post time being 1:15.
