All set for ‘Champs 100’ Awards Banquet

The Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA) will stage an awards banquet this evening at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel where outstanding athletes, coaches and officials will be honored for their contributions to the Boys’ and Girls Championships.
The award banquet, which begins at 6 p.m. is part of the ‘Champs 100’ celebration.
ISSA will honour persons who have been associated with the championships from 1910 to 2010.
Former Prime Minister Norman Manley and Olympic medalist Arthur Wint and Lennox Miller are among athletes to be recognized posthumously.
Other athletes to be recognized include Donald Quarrie, Raymond Stewart, Lindy Delapenha, Trevor Graham, Jacqueline Pusey, Inez Turner, Bev McDonald, Merlene Ottey and Usain Bolt.
