Champion League Round Up

Two-time European champions FC Porto of Portugal punished two goalkeeping blunders to beat Arsenal of England 2-1 in the first leg of their last-16 match in the Champions League yesterday.

Backup Arsenal goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski fumbled a cross from Silvestre Varela into his own net to concede the opening goal and then handled a backpass by teammate Sol Campbell to hand Porto their second goal.

Although Campbell\'s header had made it 1-1, the second strike by Falcao from a quickly taken free kick after the goalkeeper error gave Porto a first-leg victory to take to London on March 9.

In Germany substitute striker Miroslav Klose scored a contested goal in the 89th minute to give hosts Bayern Munich a 2-1 win over 10-man Fiorentina of Italy.

The victory stretched Bayern\'s winning streak in all competitions to 13 games.

The remaining four first-leg matches are next week. Olympiakos hosts Bordeaux, defending champion Barcelona goes to Stuttgart, Inter Milan face Chelsea and CSKA Moscow hosts Sevilla.
