Tendulkar scores first one-day double century

Sachin Tendulkar became the first player to score a double century in One-Day International cricket as hosts India beat South Africa by 153 runs to win the three-match series with a match to spare.



Tendulkar whacked 200 not out off 147 balls to lead India to 401 for 3 at Roop Singh Stadium.



He was supported by Dinesh Karthik with 79 and captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni\'s with an unbeaten 68.



South Africa were bowled for 248 in the 43rd over despite a fighting unbeaten 114 by AB de Villiers.



Shanthakumaran Sreesanth was the most successful bowler for India with three for 49. Yusuf Pathan ended with two for 37 and Ashish Nehra had two for 60.



The third one-dayer is on Saturday at Ahmedabad.
