Queen’s baton to display at Champs
The Queen’s Baton for the upcoming Commonwealth Games in India will be paraded on Saturday’s final day of the 100th ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys’ and Girls’ Athletics Championships set for March 24 to 27 at the National Stadium.
President of the Commonwealth Games Federation, Jamaican Michael Fennel, says the baton will carry the Queen’s message right around the Commonwealth.
The baton will goes to all Commonwealth countries and ends up in New Delhi for the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games.
The baton is expected to arrive in Jamaica at midday on March 27, the final day of the Boys’ and Girls Athletics Championships.
After making the first stop at the National Stadium, the baton will travel to Cayman, Bahamas and Turks and Caicos Islands before going back to Europe on the international leg.
