The Barbados Labour Party (BLP) has called for the firing of Economic Development Minister Dr David Estwick, following reports of an altercation with opposition parliamentarian Dale Marshall.

The alleged incident took place within the precincts of Parliament last Friday evening while the 2010-2011 Estimates of Revenue and Expenditure were being debated.

However, details of what happened are still not clear.

Opposition Leader Mia Mottley said the matter has been referred to House Speaker Michael Carrington.
