Tivoli leads Digicel Premier League

Champions Tivoli Gardens last night reclaimed the lead in the Digicel Premier League after capitalising on Harbour View’s defeat to blank Rivoli United 2-0 at Edward Seaga Sports Complex.



In what is now a two-team race for the Premiership title, Tivoli Gardens have now taken a two-point lead. They have now surged to 63 points after starting the day a point behind Harbour View.



Following the defeat, Rivoli United have slipped to seventh place.



Kemar Daley 74th minute and Jermaine Ricketts 83rd minute scored the goals for Tivoli.



Earlier, Harbour View suffered a 2-1 defeat to seventh place Village United at Elliston Wakeland Centre in Trelawny.



Dino Williams 18th minute and Delroy Ellis 83rd minute scored for Village United while Andre Fagan pulled back a goal for Harbour View six minutes from the end.



Meanwhile, Waterhouse edged second-from-the-bottom August Town 1-0 at Drewsland to move to third place on 44 points, 18 points behind the leader.



In other games, Portmore United and fifth place St Georges played to a 1-1draw at Ferdie Neita Park, last place Sporting Central Academy held fourth place Boys’ Town to a goalless draw at Brancourt in Clarendon while ninth place Humble Lions and eighth place Arnett Gardens battled to a goalless draw at Effortville Community Centre in Clarendon.
