Chanderpaul unhappy with squad being in Jamaica
Top West Indies batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul is unhappy with the Jamaica Cricket Festival being used as preparation for the regional team going into the World 20/20 Championships in the Caribbean next month.
Chanderpaul says he think the squad should have been in Guyana where the West Indies will play alongside England and Ireland in Group ‘D’ instead of Jamaica.
The 35-year-old batsman says Guyana’s pitches are quite low compared with Jamaica pitches.
However, Shivnarine Chanderpaul believes the embattled West Indies can win the World 20/20 Championship.
The veteran left-hander says home advantage, along with crowd support, are two crucial factors, which should generate confidence in the regional side.
West Indies will open their campaign against qualifiers Ireland in a day/night encounter on April 30.
