West Indies stage fight back against South Africa
West Indies will resume this morning on 424 for four replying to South Africa’s first innings total of 543 for six declared in the second Test at Warner Park in St Kitts.
Shivnarine Chanderpaul and fellow left-hander Brendan Nash struck a century each on yesterday’s third day after West Indies had resumed on 86 for one.
Chanderpaul hit 10 fours and one six in an unbeaten 151 for his 125th Test century.
The Australian-born Nash added 114, with 14 fours and one six helping him to his second test hundred.
The pair shared a fourth wicket stand of 220 that formed the backbone of the West Indies\' powerful reply.
Earlier, Narsingh Deonarine, 65, and captain Chris Gayle, 50, scored half centuries.
Morne Morkel has so far taken two wickets for the visitors.
South Africa won the first in the three-match series by 163 runs.
