Heavy rains and flooding in central China have killed 23 people and left another 30 missing.

Chinese media report that the flooding in the eastern Sichuan province has left portions of the region surrounded by water.

Nearly six million people across 62 counties have been evacuated as a result of the floods.

On Friday, similarly heavy rains resulted in flooding in south China, causing the deaths of 146 people and leaving 40 others missing.
