Jamaican Nesta Carter clocks personal best
Jamaican Nesta Carter clocked a personal best 9.86 seconds to win the 100-metre at yesterday's Spitzen Leichathletik, an Outdoor Permit Meeting in Switzerland.
Carter is now the third Jamaican to run faster than 9.90 seconds after Asafa Powell and Usain Bolt. His previous best was 9 .91.
American Walter Dix was second in 9.88, also a personal best.
Meanwhile, Kerron Stewart returned from injury to finish fifth in the women's 100-metre.
The Jamaican clocked 11.30 seconds. American Marshevet Hooker Myers won the event in 10.99, ahead of Jamaican Sherone Simpson who clocked 11.08 seconds.
There was another victory for Jamaica at the meet. Kaliese Spencer won the women's 400-metre hurdles in 53.73, while her Jamaican teammate Nickeisha Wilson finished third in 59.99.
