New crime bill for Belize

The Belizean Prime Minister, Dean Barrow, has tabled new legislation in parliament to tackle rising crime.



Mr Barrow says the new bill increases the penalties for murder, rape, carnal knowledge and other violent or sexual crimes.



He also says in addition to bail the courts will have the authority to restrict the movement of offenders to particular hours of the day.
