Haiti faces disease outbreak

Health officials in Haiti are investigating the outbreak of a mystery disease that could be responsible for dozens of deaths.



At least 19 people have died and hundreds more are being treated in hospital after suffering high fever, vomiting and severe diarrhoea.



The authorities in the regions affected, in the north and the east of the country, have asked locals to take basic hygiene precautions while they attempt to determine the cause of the disease and prevent further contamination.
