Digicel Premier League Round Up

Waterhouse recorded a 2-1 away victory over Humble Lions at Effortville Community Centre in Clarendon yesterday, to warm up for this Sunday’s end-of-first round final in the Digicel Premier League.



Waterhouse, who will face Tivoli Gardens in the end-of-round final, finished the first round with 25 points.



They are three points ahead of second place Tivoli Gardens, who gave up a goal five minutes before full time for a 1-1 draw with fifth place Portmore United at the Edward Seaga Complex.



However, Tivoli’s first round campaign will end on Wednesday, as they have a rescheduled game against Humble Lions.



Over at Collie Smith Drive, third place Boys’ Town, courtesy of an Anthony Bennett’s 82nd minute strike defeated eighth place Sporting Central Academy 1-0. Boys’ Town ended the game with 10 men as goalkeeper Kirk Porter was ejected in injury time for abusive language directed at the referee.



In other games, Benfica edged Reno 3-2 at Drax Hall in St Ann and ninth place Arnett Gardens, with new coach Paul ‘Tegat’ Davis, were held to a goalless draw by last place St George’s at Anthony Spaulding Complex.
