India defeat New Zealand by an innings in Nagpur
Harbhajan Singh and Ishant Sharma each took three wickets as hosts India beat New Zealand by an innings and 198 runs in the third and final Test at Nagpur today.
The Kiwis were bowled out for 175 soon after lunch as the home side wrapped up a 1-0 series victory.
New Zealand began the day on 24 for one, needing 349 more runs to make India bat again, but they lost seven cheap wickets in the opening session to crumble to 124 for eight.
Tim Southee 31 and Andy McKay 20 not out shared a stand of 51 but Ishant bowled Southee and Chris Martin with successive deliveries to hand India a memorable victory.
Sharma ended with three for 15 from 6.2 overs while Singh had three for 56 from 19 overs.
Final scores in the match are India 566 for eight declared, New Zealand 193 and 175.
