Sunshine Girls name two newcomers for Aussie
Jamaica’s netball selectors have named two fresh faces in a 12-member squad for their three-Test series against World Number One Australia.
Goal shooter Marsha Murphy and defender Kamieka Sherwood will line-up alongside a number of experienced players, as Jamaica’s Sunshine Girls attempt to turnaround their recent dismal form in bilateral series.
Murphy will compete with goal attack Forbes, as well as Romelda Aiken, Jhaniele Fowler, and Anna Kay Griffiths for playing time inside the shooting arc.
Experienced goalkeeper Althea Byfield will lead the side in the defensive third, along with Sherwood, Nicole Aiken, Kasey Evering, and Malysha Kelly.
Vice-captain Nadine Bryan will lead the centre court line-up, with Sasher-Gaye Henry, Paula Thompson, Kimone Tulloch, and Vanessa Walker.
The series, which both sides are using as part of their preparations for this year’s World Championships in July in Singapore, opens tomorrow, and continues with matches on Friday and Sunday.
