Andy Murray moved into his second successive Australian Open final when he toiled to a four-set win over Spaniard David Ferrer last night.

The Briton, seeded fifth, won 4-6, 7-6, 6-1 7-6 to set up a final against Novak Djokovic on Sunday.

Murray, who had to battle back from the brink of a two-set deficit, is now one win away from a first Grand Slam title.

For the third time in his career, the 23-year-old stands on the brink of ending Britain's long wait for a men's grand slam singles champion which stands at almost 75 years.

Fred Perry was the last man to achieve the feat at the US Open in 1936.
