Pakistan beat West Indies in opening ODI

West Indies lost the opening One-Day International of the five-match Digicel Home series against Pakistan by eight wickets at the Beausejour Cricket Stadium in St Lucia today.
Set 222 for victory, Pakistan easily reached the target for the loss of two wickets off 41 point 3 overs.
Middle order batsman Misbah-ul-Haq top scored with an unbeaten 73 and shared an unbroken stand of 134 for the third wicket with Asad Shafiq 61, to seal victory.
Only leg-spinner Devendra Bishoo looked threatening for the West Indies and he finished with two for 48.
Earlier, West Indies elected to bat posted 221 for six off their allotted 50 overs with Darren Bravo leading the way with 67.
Captain Darren Sammy produced a late innings cameo in hammering 29 from 17 balls while Lendl Simmons got 24 at the top of the order. The second match will take place on Monday at the same venue.
